Note: Please be aware that due to the unpredictable levels of the Bow River and possible bridge and pathway closures, the 10K route is subject to change. Thanks for your understanding!
The 10k route starts at the Plaza on St. Patrick's Island. The 10k runners will run west until they reach the new St. Patrick's Island Bridge. After getting onto the new St. Patrick's Island Bridge, the 10k runners will turn left, and run south along the bridge, toward the East Village. Upon exiting the new St. Patrick's Island Bridge, the 10k runners will turn right and run west along the Bow River Pathway, on the south side of the river, until they reach the small island bridge located on the southeast corner of Prince's Island. The 10k runners will turn right onto the small island bridge and run northwest through Prince's Island, exiting from the north Prince's Island Bridge. Upon exiting the north Prince's Island Bridge, the 10k runners will run east along the Bow River Pathway, on the north side of the river, passing underneath the Centre Street Bridge, the 4th Avenue flyover, the Langevin Bridge, and the 5th Avenue flyover. The 10k runners will continue running east on the Bow River Pathway until the reach the eastern most corner of the Calgary Zoo on the north side of the Bow River. The 10k runners will turn around at the eastern corner of the Calgary Zoo, and they will return to the starting point of the race, at the Plaza on St. Patrick's Island, via the northern entrance to the new St. Patrick's Island Bridge.
I know that participating in physical fitness events, including this event, is a potentially hazardous activity. I agree not to participate unless I am medically able and properly prepared. I should not participate without my physician's approval. I agree to abide by any decision of an event official concerning my ability to safely participate. I acknowledge that this event is being organized by the Run for Water Society (the “Race Organizer”).
I assume any and all risks associated with the event; including but not limited to, falls, contact with other persons or objects, the effects of weather; traffic and course conditions. As a condition of my entering this event, I, for myself, any accompanying minors, and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, release the Event Organizer, including its directors, members, employees, representatives, sponsors, and volunteers, from all present and future claims and liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in this event or related activities, even though such claim or liability may arise out of negligence or fault on the part of the Event Organizer, and waive any right to make such a claim. I agree that the Event Organizer shall not be liable for any personal injury, death, or property loss, and I release the Event Organizer and waive all claims with respect thereto.
In the event my registration fees are paid, I agree to be bound by the provisions of the waiver. I grant permission to the Event Organizer to use my personal information and likenesses of me including photos, videos, or any other record of my participation in this event or related activities without remuneration.
Applications for minors shall be accepted only with a parent's signature and should be signed by the minor.
