Here are ways you can get involved as a Run for Water volunteer!Trail Race
Assist with the Trail Race on Saturday May 26 on Sumas Mtn.
Race Set-Up & Clean-Up
Assist with the set-up of the race site at Mill Lake Park on May 26 & 27. Help with the clean-up of the race site post race.
Race Package Pickup
Assist with checking-in participants and distributing race bibs & shirts. This will take place at the race expo on May 26 at UFV Athletics Centre.
Race Expo
Assist with greeting or parking at the race expo on May 26 at UFV Athletics Centre.
Race Course Marshalling
Direct runners on the race courses (half marathon, 10K, 5K), control traffic from private driveways, and liaison with the general public during the event. This volunteer position requires additional responsibilities and is for adult volunteers only.
Aid Stations
Participate within a high energy group setting to enthusiastically provide water or sports drink to runners along the race course.
Lead/Follow-Up Bikers
Lead and follow racers along race course. This position requires a bike and is for adult volunteers only.
Medical Volunteers
Work in conjuction with our medical director to provide medical assistance along course and at start/finish area. This position requires medical training.
Kids Activities
Participate in a group setting to assist with providing fun and entertaining experience on race day for families with young children (face painting, bouncy castles, climbing wall, etc.).
Start/Finish Area
Assist in various roles at the start/finish area at Mill Lake Park:
- race food
- race medals
- bag check
- parking
- start/finish line
- race timing
